Our Approach

Rooted in relationship, identity, and mission:

We were all made to be in relationship with the Father.

  • Prayer is the foundation of all our work so we can first discern God’s movements.

And in that relationship, our identity is received from the Father, empowering us to see ourselves as He sees us.

  • We listen well to the Father and discern which leadership and evangelization tools work to accomplish His plan.

Equipped with our identity, we can live into the mission He is calling us to.

  • The plan designed for you will not be a fast-track to less headaches, but an investment in your vocation that will have a ripple effect in your mission for years to come.

  • group session for strategic planning

    Strategic Planning

The process begins by forming a team of parishioners to join the priest in creating a mission statement and goals. We start the process by asking “Why does Mother Church say a parish is?”. Through aligning the group with the Great Commission, a trusted team can truly be established and a joint mission can be accomplished. We hope that through the strategic planning process, you can begin to see your parish ministries more as an armada of ships going in the same direction versus siloes.

  • leadership coaching in person or virtual

    Leadership Coaching

Priests in leadership positions are often expected to run a business and manage employees without formal training. Through no fault of your own, this can quickly lead to overwhelm and burnout. Through 1-on-1 coaching sessions, we can coach you in leadership skills such as leading effective meetings, creating performance evaluations, and having crucial conversations. We will accompany you with resources and tools such as GROW Coaching, the SL2 Model, and Working Genius.

  • working together to build a team through activities

    Team Building

No matter the size of your staff or if you have a group of volunteers, it is essential to trust each other. We can help a team become a trusting unit working together for the Kingdom through conversations or activities. Team building can look like a full or half day of meetings. Regardless, the team will come away with increased trust, growth in prayer, and clarity in your priorities.

  • gospel-based leadership and evangelization coaching

    Evangelization

Everything we do at Avila Coaching and Consulting is rooted in prayer and aimed toward the Great Commission. With a decade of experience in evangelization, we teach the skills needed for evangelizing in a parish, starting with a personal relationship with Jesus. We teach evangelization essentials like how to help people encounter God and how their experience with others.

The Tools

Influenced by Patrick Lencioni, Catholic leadership author, we will employ the Working Genius model to learn about you and your team. With an emphasis on developing leaders and management skills, we can quickly identify areas of growth and teach the needed skills. Skills range anywhere from leading a meeting, having hard conversations, or giving performance evaluations.

The GROW Coaching and the SL2 Model may also be utilized in our coaching sessions.

The strategic planning process is outlined thoroughly but flexible enough to be tailored to your parish or ministry.

Additional tools are utilized throughout the process to bring about the most success.
